Ric Esquivel and Steve Woods are part of Ducks Unlimited Canada , a leader in wetland conservation, with a core staff of a few hundred people distributed across several locations, and 139,000 grassroots supporters around the nation.

Saving wetlands, for ducks and for us

Countless species of waterfowl and wildlife in North America rely upon an extensive system of wetlands for their survival.

And while most folks think of Canada as an endless expanse of wonderful wilderness, 70% of Canada's wetlands have already been lost or degraded.

And wetlands continue to disappear: about 80 acres of habitat are lost every day. (That's about 40 soccer fields, disappearing every single day.)

Efficiency matters for nonprofits

Ducks Unlimited Canada is an amazingly efficient nonprofit: 94% of all net dollars received goes into habitat conservation, research, public policy and education.

DUC is also a very distributed organization: active in every province and territory in Canada — from rural areas, to the boreal forest, and in towns and cities.

See how good they did in 2012.

Ducks Unlimited Canada is becoming Agile

To keep their operations as efficient as possible, while working within a highly distributed environment, Ducks Unlimited Canada is adopting Agile — with a little help from Kerika.

They did all of their annual fiscal planning for 2014 using Task Boards, and they already completed a critical storage solution project using Kerika.

And now they have a better use for Post-Its...

Now that they have online Kerika Boards, the IT department in Ducks Unlimited's Winnipeg office has come up with a much better use for sticky notes...
